Top 6 Objectives Your LinkedIn Profile Must Meet
Do you know what's common between Piccadilly Circus, Times Square and your LinkedIn profile?
Whether you've been to London and New York or not, there's one thing in common that you definitely know already: they are both extremely busy places.
Likewise, LinkedIn is the 17th most visited website on the Internet, not just social media but websites in general. And like London, New York or any other metropolitan city, companies flock to LinkedIn to promote their brand and engage with their target audiences. To over one billion users worldwide to be more precise.
So how about you?
Do you use LinkedIn to advertise yourself or do you, leave your advertising billboard empty and wasted? If you do, then you're missing a great deal.
Let me explain...
Your LinkedIn profile is the projection of your professional life and business objectives. It's your biggest advertising space, a chance to shout out about yourself and tell the world about your company, your product, service or personal brand, it's the platform to build your thought leadership, an opportunity to generate leads, seek a new job, find investors, hire a new employee or anything else you and your business require!
And unlike an advert on Piccadilly Circus or Times Squares which cost the Earth, LinkedIn for its best part is free. So why don't you use your profile and the company page and ensure without a miss that you fulfil the following 6 vital goals:
1. Be Discoverable
Remember, LinkedIn is the biggest business directory in the world - make sure those who need your help can easily discover you.
2. Grab Attention
Once your target users find you, grab their attention. Let them see what makes you different to everyone else.
3. Create Interest
Once you grab the attention of those who visited your profile, make them curious to find out more about you. Remember, if they're the right audience, they must see you as their best bet to fix their need!
4. Provide Information
Tell them what and how you do what you do. Tell them why they should consider you. Tell them who do you make the best results for. Let them wanting to work with you.

5. Build Confidence & Trust
Your audience have a choice to stay and engage with you on your page, or move on and discover someone else instead. In business - everyone wants to work with those who they trust. Provide recommendations and emphasise your credentials to build that trust.
6. Include Call for Action
On the internet in general - we love to have an easy way forward. Give a reason to get in touch to those you'd like to engage with; provide a free initial consultation, invite to a webinar, provide an appraisal or review, offer a free "How to" guide download or anything else which will start the engagement process you and your business are so much looking for.
Summary
Your LinkedIn Profile is like a billboard. It explains what you do, why you better than others, who will benefit the most from buying from you, or perhaps gives you a chance to shout out about any specials you run for the right audience.
When designing the banner on your profile, just think of the Times or Piccadilly Circus adverts. If someone gave them to you for free, what would you put there?
There you are, you've got the idea. All you need now is go ahead and create one.
