AI Battleground: Will Google be the Killer of OpenAI's ChatGPT?

Imagine a situation where you could obtain information without clicking on a blue link ever again in your life. Simply type your question to receive a straightforward explanation. To us, it is magnificent. However, this will be the end of Google. Their ad revenue would be destroyed. It would be impossible for the computer giant to compensate advertising for clicks since nobody would click on anything anymore.

Google isn’t quite rethinking search yet, though. The billions of dollars in ad search income have quite a hold on it. So, it is exercising caution. According to the earliest videos, Google would just spew out a conversational response at the top. make you feel as though you are conversing with a kind stranger. You may still click on a ton of links and advertisements, though. So, you don’t even need to leave a Google search to get the “recommended” electric toothbrush. Additionally, since AI is now a part of almost every Google product in the ecosystem, ChatGPT’s use cases will diminish even further. like the routine act of sending emails.

Apple iPhone, iPad get ChatGPT, OpenAI's artificial intelligence app

"Since the release of ChatGPT, we've heard from users that they love using ChatGPT on the go," said OpenAI, the company that makes ChatGPT.

Don't worry Android device lovers, a smartphone app will be coming your way soon, the company said.

The arrival of ChatGPT for iPhones could mean the death knell for competing AI apps and even Apple's Siri, suggests Rowan Cheung, who writes The Rundown, a newsletter about AI developments.

"Not only is the ChatGPT app about to kill all of these knock-offs, but it's actually BETTER than the web version," he tweeted. "It has Whisper integration, which enables voice-to-text. This means you no longer have to type to ChatGPT, you can just talk to it. RIP Siri."

AI job fears: can we regulate ‘rise of the robots’?

Some say that technology won’t take jobs but change them – not necessarily for the better. Explaining how AI “will come for your job”, The Atlantic said that “instead of being replaced by robots” office workers “will soon be pressured to act more like robots themselves”.

The logic is “simple and circular”, the magazine explained: “increased efficiency frees us up to be more productive”. Therefore, “it’s not quite an apocalypse, it’s far more boring than that”.

Nevertheless, the threat of AI to the jobs market was seen again when Metro reported that US tech giant IBM expects to pause hiring for roles as roughly 7,800 jobs could be replaced by AI in the coming years.

What was your journey like to get where you are?

I’ve been investing in stocks for over 10 years and then I got into cryptocurrency about 3 years ago. I was very involved in the AMC and Game Stop run up which I think opened a lot of people’s eyes during the pandemic to what’s been going on in so industries. Around that time I created an account on OpenSea after a friend of mine told me about NFTs and how they are similar to trading baseball cards which I enjoyed growing up. The transition from crypto to NFTs seemed natural so I started researching the technology and fell in love with what Web3 and decentralization were all about, putting everyone on the same playing field, with more freedom, and actual ownership. The first NFT project I got involved with was Based Fish Mafia, that’s where I really got a feel for community building in Web3. They gave me my first job in the space, I began as their social media/community manager which started me on my career in Web3. After being interviewed on several podcasts, the community suggested I start one of my own, thus NFT and Chill began. Thanks to the support of the BFM and Web3 community NFT and Chill quickly became one of the most popular podcasts in Web3 heard by over 150k people worldwide, and constantly in the top 50 in over 30 countries for tech news. It was also nominated “Best NFT Media” at NFT NYC this year and I’ve spoken at many of the biggest conferences in the space including Dcentral Con in Miami during Art Basel at the end of November.

In simpler phrases, what is your company exactly doing?

NFT and Chill is a decentralized podcast that discusses the latest news and topics with artists, creators, and thought leaders providing education and awareness in Web3.

What about Metaverse are you most excited about in the future?

The potential for the Metaverse is endless but what excites me is the fact it brings everyone in the world closer together. Also, the possibility of using it for everyday life like going to the grocery store, imagine shopping with your avatar as you do in person and once you check out your order arrives at your door.

Why should we be paying attention to the Metaverse?

We are so early in what we can do with VR technology but I’ve noticed Metaverse being built for business and the corporate world. Imagine instead of driving to work every day, you put on a headset and you’re at your desk, in a meeting or boardroom.
