A public reprimand has also been issued against the exchange and its founder Leon Li. As the company’s chief executive, Li has been ordered to oversee the process of winding down local operations, ceasing communications with Malaysian investors, disabling the website, and withdrawing the app from app stores.
The regulator’s announcement says the enforcement action was taken “after concerns about the platform’s compliance with local regulatory requirements and protecting investors’ interests.”
Malaysia is not the first country anyone would associate with the global crypto arms race and this is reflected in the dearth of crypto news coming from the Southeast Asian country, but that might change soon.
In September 2021, the Malaysian central bank joined a trial with the Bank for International Settlements, and in January it announced it was working on a proof of concept "to enhance our technical and policy capabilities, should the need to issue [a] CBDC arise in the future."
Binance has tied up with members of the crypto community to make their own pizza with their own BTC toppings logo. Participants who would share their Binance-themed pizzas using #BinancePizza or complete tasks to collect all the pizza flavours on the Binance app have a chance to win the crypto equivalent of a year’s supply of pizza.
Online celebrations will continue as Binance hosts a virtual live meet-up with the attendance of CZ, CEO of Binance, on May 22 at 12:00 PM UTC, featuring discussions on the meaning of Bitcoin Pizza Day with prominent Binance Feed creators.
During the launch of Bard at the annual I/O event, Google promised that it would be rolling out new features for Bard in the coming weeks. What was your journey like to get where you are?
Life, in my opinion, symbolizes the essentials. You learn to walk, talk, and do rudimentary chores like feeding yourself at this age. Oh, sweetheart, you’re just doing what you see others do at this point in your life. All of those folks around you are your idols and instructors, teaching you how to be a human being. We are helpless as newborns, relying on others to do everything for us.
In simpler phrases, what is your company exactly doing?
Everyday Power, is an inspirational and education website. EverydayPower reaches millions of people a month and inspires people to learn, apply and transcend.
What about Metaverse are you most excited about in the future?
One of the most exciting features of the metaverse in my opinion is the possibility for immersive experiences. Whether you’re attending a virtual concert, traveling to a distant nation, or watching a sporting event, virtual and augmented reality may make you feel as if you’re there in person even if you’re sitting in your living room. This is especially encouraging given that the COVID-19 outbreak is still raging and many individuals are unable to travel or attend large gatherings securely. Immersive experiences may be available through the metaverse even if you are unable to leave your house.
Why should we be paying attention to the Metaverse?
Some of the actors developing the metaverse, in my opinion, are in it for the money and power, while others are more interested in tackling the massive problems that plague our present online systems. Many more fall somewhere in the middle of these two goals. The first camp of challengers comprises the existing web powerhouses, such as Facebook, Microsoft, and Google. These corporations have made a fortune by dominating their individual sectors, and they clearly want to be a part of whatever comes next.
