We were recently involved in an online course and found that many students were ESL (English as second language) knowing this caused us to design a glossary for better understanding of uncommon terms and phrases.

Incorporate Interactive Elements: Use quizzes, simulations, and interactive videos to keep learners engaged. Allowing them to participate actively reinforces learning and breaks the monotony.

Use Storytelling: Stories create an emotional connection and help explain complex concepts. Incorporate real-world examples and scenarios to make the content more relatable.

Keep Content Chunked and Digestible: Break down lessons into small, focused sections to prevent cognitive overload. Microlearning segments make it easier for learners to absorb information. Breaking learning into modules and chapters is key.

Include Multimedia: Utilize images, animations, and videos to cater to different learning styles and keep the content dynamic. Visuals can often simplify complicated concepts. We find it useful to have subject matter experts speak to specific topics.
