[ Topic - SEO ] SEO Case Study for Real Estate Project — Go Lead Digital
Hello everyone,
I am excited to share some of the case studies from my agency, GO LEAD DIGITAL. I hope this will provide you with some valuable insights for your own projects.
Project Background:
Our client was a real estate agent based in Thane who had recently launched a new website with an Exact Match Domain for their targeted real estate project.
Services Provided:
We were approached to provide SEO services, which included search engine optimization and content writing.
Client Request / Challenge:
Our client challenged us to achieve the following objectives within three months:
1. Rank for the top 2 keywords for the project (Volume: 1,100/mo | CPC: Rs143 | Competition: 0.53 — Tool: Keywords Everywhere)
2. Ensure steady traffic growth, and increase organic traffic, and website conversions each month.
Our Strategy/ Execution:
To achieve our client's objectives, we followed the following steps:
1. We began by conducting an audit, which included an SEO audit, website audit, and competitor analysis.
2. We discussed and analyzed their unique selling proposition (USP) and how they differed from other real estate agents.
3. We identified all the pointers that could be optimized for their website and selected ten keywords to work on.
4. We separated the keywords into primary and secondary categories.
5. Primary keywords were closely related to the project and its region, based on search volume and competitiveness.
6. Secondary keywords were generic user search terms in their industry, which were to be focused on in the blog section.
7. We asked their developer to look into the technical fixes and optimization (desktop & mobile) before incorporating the keywords.
8. We revamped the whole content format on the website and optimized the CTAs for ease of access.
9. We added a WhatsApp icon for faster sales closure, which was still a new concept at that time.
10. Finally, we focused on off-page website promotion activities.
Additionally, we executed the following activities for better results:
- Activated all social channels, especially with a focus to build a loyal audience on the Facebook and Instagram page.
- Re-uploaded the project video on our YouTube channel with tweaks to highlight our contact info and optimized it for better search exposure.
- Focused more on forums and communities where there was an active conversation happening on the project or location topic.
Results:
Our efforts produced outstanding results over the three to six months period (JUN 2018 — AUG 2018):
1. We achieved first-page rankings for both primary keywords requested by the client.
2. Organic traffic increased by 200%.
3. Unique visitors via organic search increased by 30-50% month by month.
The Issue We Faced:
During this project, we were still in the initial phase of our business, and our focus was to build our portfolio for different services. As a result, we were quoting very low prices for our services. This project was a challenge, as we were promised more SEO projects for their real estate sites, and the client did not pay us for the third month due to the rankings not being achieved. However, we believed in our strategy and continued with the same until we achieved positive results in the fourth month.
My Understanding and Analysis:
This experience taught us some valuable lessons:
1. The importance of properly conveying SEO deliverables to clients through documents and emails, rather than just verbally agreeing on them.
2. Anytime we exchange services, blog posts, or time for money, we must have a written agreement.
3. We must have all processes in place, from contract signing, the scope of work, client onboarding, payments, invoice generation, etc.
Moving forward!
If you have any questions or comments regarding the case study I shared above, I would be happy to answer them.
One interesting fact about this project is that during our initial meeting with the client, he was so impressed with our approach that he wrote us a cheque on the spot to secure our services.
If you have any suggestions or thoughts on how I could have handled the situation better, please let me know.
