Job Requirements
As the Trade Marketing Manager you will be responsible for translating marketing plans into actionable distributor plans, leading the alignment of the category, brand & market strategies.
Portfolio overview:
o Categories: Mass Fragrance, Mass colour & nails, personal & body care, skincare
o Brands: Rimmel, Sally Hansen, adidas & various mass fragrance brands
Your main areas of responsibility will include the following:
· C2 ownership at brand level
· NR co-ownership
· Consumer & category analysis, insight and reporting
· Competitive tracking and analysis
· Ranging - productive and efficient stock mix, best adapted to local market needs
· Product Lifecycle Management – global and local discontinuations for full Africa
· In market pricing strategies including benchmark brand tracking, promotional tracking and local in-country price tracking
· Co-ownership of price list updates
· Regional Plannograms
· Regional Merchandising strategies
· Assist distributor partners in developing market specific brand strategies based on global strategies
· Identify and execute market specific NR driving projects
· Develop distribution and channel strategies in focus markets
· Develop pure player potential in Africa
· Regular feedback to global teams on best in class executions, and market education
· Marketing feedback reports from focus countries
· Effectively communicate marketing activities across multiple functions
· Managing a marketing budget
· Building relationships strong relationships with global brand teams, distributor partners and key retailers
Job Profile
Education:
· Qualified to bachelor's degree level, BCom marketing or equivalent
Required experience:
· Minimum 5 years equivalent experience in the retail industry
· Proven success in trade marketing roles
· Experience managing and allocating budgets
· Experience with and an understanding of market research
· Trade Marketing experience in consumer beauty
Technical Skills and Competencies:
· Strong business and financial acumen and able to influence P&L to reach financial KPI’s
· Analytical skills and attention to detail
· Strategic thinking, creativity, and innovative ideas for campaigns
· Project, time and change management skills with diverse audiences and environments
· Strong planning and organisational skills and can work with ambiguity
· Manages stress and can work on multiple complex projects simultaneously
· Strong market research skills, understands and can forecast trends
· Able to lead self and others, with strong interpersonal skills, EQ, coaching and teamwork abilities
· Customer centric approach and the ability to respond to consumer and customer needs

· Full proficiency in English language. Confident in both written and spoken communication with the ability to present and influence at all levels. Proficiency in French and/or Arabic an advantage
