Trusting Your Intuition to Find Your Superpower
What does it take to be successful in life? Many people view success as wealth, status, or power. But it can mean more, like a combination of being comfortable with who we are and open to the experiences of others. When we are comfortable in our own skin, we attract others to us, leading to greater opportunities and accomplishments. At the same time, it's essential to listen to different perspectives and respect others' differences. By doing so, we broaden our understanding, gain new insights that can help us in our own lives and also find our superpowers!
In this episode of the Everyday Leadership Podcast🎙️, I'm joined by Hasan Khair . Hasan is an Executive Coach and Co-Founder of Mavericks Unlimited, which helps ambitious companies enhance their culture through passion, strategy, and purpose. He has over a decade of experience in the HR industry, working with well-known companies such as Virgin, Cohn & Wolfe, and Saatchi & Saatchi. He is also a dedicated coach for the 'Princes Trust Youth Ambassador' program.
In our conversation, we covered a range of topics, including exploring oneself amidst societal pressures, the significance of equal opportunities, paying attention to intuition, preparing individuals for transformation, and discussing the meaning of leadership.
📌 “There is no one pathway to success, there is no one route.”
Key Takeaways
“I probably could have been really successful at school if teachers understood that I needed to learn in a different way. So I'm not anti-education, I'm pro-education, I have three kids and I want them to do well, I want them to enjoy it. But you have to enjoy learning, you have to learn in the right way.”
“Legacy impact is really important. When we leave this place and go on somewhere else. You want to look back and you think, okay, I made a difference. Now, of course, we make a difference in our immediate circle and our families or friends. But I personally want to make a bigger impact. And it's not just about how much my bank account looks, what it looks like when I leave it's got to be about you've had an impact.”
“I'm so committed now to helping people to understand that there isn't just a level playing field, that there is a psyche built into people that grow up in poor backgrounds… there is a psychology that is built in us. We don't walk into those situations, feeling confident… But I realized that what I took from that experience was because I was exposed to the opportunities, that's we all are needy, that all we need a society is to have access and to be exposed, and to create our own stories and pathways and neural pathways. And then we're going to fly.”

“Helping them [my children] to really understand what they're passionate about is really important... what I didn't have was the structure and the rigor of just coming down, sitting down at least doing something every day, and just doing what you need to do. And I think being able to create that environment and support them through the learning journey. But more importantly than that, I'm really just trying to help them to discover what it is to be a good human being.”
“My definition of leadership was always never expecting somebody to do something that you wouldn't do yourself. That doesn't mean you always have to be doing the same work, but you have to be able to be empathetic and understand what the impact might be for that person… It's about creating a vision and it's about nurturing the people that you're responsible for, to be able to have the confidence to be able to do the work and it's about having conviction and supporting decisions and being okay with failure... You don't need to be the right one all the time if you listen to the great people around you. And that's how you can be a great leader.”
This episode with Hasan was all about growth, development, and making a positive impact in the world. It was insightful, thought-provoking, and inspiring, and a podcast you won’t be happy missing!
