The truth about being an entrepreneur

The truth about being an entrepreneur

It needs to be discussed more about what it takes to run a business. It needs to be talked about way more.

We see all these young "pop star" online influencer entrepreneurs talking about the 4-hour workday and taking calls from the pool......I call bull shit.

It portrays an unrealistic view of what entrepreneurship takes. Yes, you can sit by the pool and work. That is only some of what they are doing or have done to get to the place in their business.

Being a great marketer and doing lots of quick cash projects differs from running a sustainable company set up for long-term success and growth.

I will be the first to admit it's NOT EASY!

Being an entrepreneur comes with SO MUCH uncertainty, and for someone with rejection issues, it can trigger old emotions.

I have seen wayyyyy too many young and hopeful individuals put themselves in a terrible place because no one prepared them for the actual world circumstances that running a business entails.

It's like being a mother; you can't just "be on vacation," and everything will run itself.

Please do your due diligence and talk to some entrepreneurs offline that aren't trying to sell you 10-step business courses.

Running a business is a full-time job with many emotional highs and lows.

People preach that it is generational income when it's not. The only way to create lifetime wealth is to make money and invest it. You can lose a company, but your investments will continue to grow.

People typically get into business to pay off debt, have vacation money, purchase things for their families, and have time freedom from a work schedule outside the home; People are looking for flexibility, Tax benefits. Create their environment with reduced stress, and be able to give or help where it feels good for them.

Something was driving them before the money. Money is a result of the actions that created their business need.

It would be best if you were prepared for the journey as an ethical, sensitive human. This shit isn't for the faint of heart.

Business is a long-term commitment. It is not a toe-in kind of test. It happens and builds over time.

You need a TEAM of support around you; you need supportive people; you need to learn self-care at a whole new level and be Uber prepared for the unexpected things that inevitably make you pivot time and time again.

For example: By Blog, AngelaBrook.com, got shut down over Christmas right before all my emails and text message promotions started rolling out. Bringing it back up and running will take 48-72 hours because of the blog size.

You need systems to be in place to work for you. You can't depend on only one single method.

Stop believing all the BS marketing and talk to some offline entrepreneurs. It takes time, money, support of all kinds, and the ability to have resilience over and over again

All that being said, it's possible! Nothing is stopping you.

I am living proof with all the challenges I come to the table and the hard lessons I had to learn; I wouldn't want to be doing anything else.
