Tupperware names new CEO to spearhead turnaround

Welcome to Orlando Business Journal's weekly LinkedIn newsletter. I'm Digital Producer/Senior Staff Writer Richard Bilbao, rounding up Orlando business news to keep you in the know when time is short.

Orlando-based Tupperware Brands Corp. (NYSE: TUP) announced a big leadership change on Oct. 17, naming Laurie Ann Goldman as its new president and CEO as well as board director.

Goldman — a 30-year business veteran who formerly was CEO of Avon North America and Spanx — replaces Miguel Fernandez as the global consumer products company's top executive, effective immediately. Fernandez had served in the role since March 2020.

"Now is the right time to bring in new leadership, and Laurie Ann is exceptionally well-suited to advance our long-term strategy and accelerate growth," Tupperware Chairman Susan Cameron said in a prepared statement. "Laurie Ann is a trusted and growth-oriented leader with extensive management experience in the consumer goods industry."

Goldman most recently was CEO of Atlanta-based medi-spa concept OVME Aesthetics. Before that, she was CEO of Avon North America for a year and was Spanx CEO from 2002-2014, helping take the Atlanta-based shapewear titan from a startup to a global category leader and household name.
