Two stories that are meant to be together

Two stories that are meant to be together

By Chris Camm:

Hi Greg, I had a conversation with you during the initial Marketing Excellence Program selection phase. I was of the view that you always own up to and own your mistakes, which I still believe. But you said to me, we all make mistakes/have poor periods but how long are you going to keep looking back, are you going to let that define you and not celebrate the success you are having today?

If there Is something I could take away from my time at HomeServe it would be this. So much so that in this current role I have been able to define the space, grow the role and excel at it. Why – because I am no longer afraid of making mistakes because while I make them and own them, I no longer let myself be defined by them. I use them to grow.

This has also helped me with the next stage in my career as I am due to take up a new position at Mitchel and Butlers in Birmingham at the end of the month. (which is probably why I’m in a reflective mood at the moment, as I wind down and hand over activity ahead of this)

So a TLDR summary of the above (which defeats the purpose being at the bottom) is: Thank you.

By Dean McCann:

Hi Greg, I love your LinkedIn series.

When I was a young boy, my Dad told me that 'opportunity is everywhere' my Dad has been a great source of inspiration throughout my life, and this is something that has always stayed with me.

When I find myself in a tough situation or feel like i have no options, I always think of these simple but very powerful words, they give me inspiration and I will pass them onto my own children when the time is right.

Great to see you doing well Christopher Camm, good luck with the new role. If you have not read it already, a great book for this subject is Mindset by Carole Dweck, perspective is everything.
