Uber Cuts Back on Promotions: Is the Party Over?
When many drivers took off from rideshare driving due to the pandemic, Uber and Lyft began trying to win them back with big incentives and promotions. But have those good times ended? Readers weigh in.
Here’s what readers are saying:
One driver in Georgia shared just how different certain regions of the country can be when it comes to promotions:
“Uber promotions have been non-existent for me for a long time. I'm in Macon, Ga about an hour or so from Atlanta. Lyft consistently has some kind of promotion all the time. Either way I generally don’t see any specific uptick in ratings or tips…”
Uber CEO on CNBC 'Things Honestly Are Great' - Reaction!
So Uber’s CEO went on CNBC recently to talk about how things are ‘great’ with the company - really? Drivers feel differently about this news.
Here’s what readers are saying:
One commenter argues that things might actually be great for Uber because of the costs they’re able to pass on to customers and drivers:
“With car prices sky-high and the cost of fuel and maintenance becoming increasingly more expensive, Uber is justifiably capitalizing on the situation by charging the riders higher prices BUT not passing that along to the drivers.”
