Unfortunate things should not lead us to depression!
Unfortunate things should not lead us to depression!
About twenty years ago, on the Independence Day of our Nation, a deadly earthquake devastated some major cities in the state of Gujarat. What horrible cries could have been heard in those areas! Countless became orphans within few seconds! Numerous people lost their homes!! We cannot say that earthquakes are God's punishment. When the tower of Siloam fell in the days of the Lord Jesus, He made it clear that those who died in that accident were not more sinful than others. Further, Jesus warned about the happening of wars, famines, and earthquakes in the last days. So the earthquakes remind us about the nearer of "the coming of the Lord!"
Moreover, incidents like these, remind us the need of prayer for our Nation, so that God may have mercy on our Indian Nation, which is deeply mired in deadly idolatry!
I have heard people in some of the houses where deaths took place, cursing God. In that place, I even had the thought "it's better to leave that place". At these situations, the gentiles gathering there need to know that we have a living hope for the future! Those who die in the Lord will immediately enter into His presence!! So, as Jesus was resurrected from the dead, we all have a glorious hope for the future!!
Be careful not to get caught up in the deep mud of sad depression! If so, you yourself could harm your feelings, your mental attitude and to your spirituality. In this case, you could confusing others by making guesses that come to your mind. One day, when you see your loved one in heaven...... you will feel sad on that day for those depressing periods while you lost the opportunity to walk close with the Lord on this Earth!

Prayer:
Dear Father! Give us the grace not to get caught up in depression due to the tragic events of the Nation or by the tragic events of our homes; instead they should drive us to prayer! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
