Unlikely effects of painkillers: Study throws guiding light on the causative process

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen and aspirin are universally used for treating pain and inflammation. However, different NSAIDs are known to have unexpected and unexplained outcomes in several diseases, including heart disease and cancer. At the same time, little is known about the how and why of this eventuality. Now, a landmark study has thrown guiding light on the enigmatic process that influences the NSAIDs to adversely affect the body. Given the actionable insights, the research findings are likely to explain how and why similar NSAIDs produce a range of clinical outcomes, thereby guiding the appropriate use of drugs going forward.
