In my last newsletter, I shared insights into what it takes to unlock executive success through experiential work-life harmony coaching. While the achievements of executives are often celebrated, the challenges they face behind closed doors rarely receive the attention they deserve. High-level leadership brings immense pressure—long hours, constant decision-making, and the expectation to maintain peak performance. These demands, when compounded over time, can lead to burnout, a feeling of being overwhelmed, and a deep sense of imbalance between work and personal life.

What Are Employees Really Asking For?

In a recent poll I conducted, employees overwhelmingly pointed to work-life harmony as the top priority for supporting mental health and well-being, with 60% of respondents selecting this option. This is a clear call for organizations to go beyond standard wellness programs and focus on structural changes that integrate both personal and professional lives. See the poll here.

The poll also revealed:

- Counseling programs (15%): Employees see value in mental health support but prefer proactive solutions over reactive ones.

- Mental health days off (13%): Time off is important, but employees are signaling that they want more long-term solutions to prevent burnout, not just quick fixes.

- Open discussions (12%): While creating open dialogue around mental health is necessary, employees want it backed by tangible policies and action.

This feedback reflects a growing recognition that traditional models of success and well-being for executives and employees alike are no longer sustainable. Executives are not immune to these same challenges—if anything, their struggles are often magnified.
