Unlocking Opportunities: A Guide to Dubai's Five-Year Visa for Indian Nationals

As legal professionals at Al Safar & Partners Law Firm, we are keen to provide our clients and the wider public with an understanding of the recent legislative development from Dubai, which is of particular interest to Indian nationals. Dubai has introduced a five-year multiple-entry tourist visa for Indians, marking a significant advancement in travel and economic relations between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This policy initiative, announced by the Dubai Department of Economic Tourism (DET), is aimed at reinforcing economic collaborations, fostering tourism, and encouraging business ties between the two vibrant regions.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for this visa, applicants are required to fulfill several criteria that underscore the importance of financial stability and health security during their stay in the UAE. These prerequisites include:

1. A minimum bank balance of $4,000 or its equivalent in the last six months prior to application.

2. Valid UAE health insurance.

3. A round-trip ticket confirming the applicant's plans to return.

4. Proof of accommodation in the UAE, which could be a hotel reservation or a residential address.

Required Documentation:

The application process necessitates the submission of various documents, including:

- A colored passport-size photograph.

- A copy of the applicant’s passport.

- Proof of health insurance valid in the UAE.

- A recent bank statement as proof of financial stability.

- A detailed tour itinerary.

- A ticket for the subsequent trip.

Application Process:

Applicants have the convenience of applying for this visa through digital channels, such as the GDRFA website or mobile application, as well as the option of in-person submission at a Customer Happiness Centre. It is imperative for applicants to ensure that the application is thoroughly completed, accompanied by the payment of necessary fees and submission of all required documents.

Upon successful application, the visa is generally issued within 2-5 working days, granting the holder multiple entries into the country over a span of five years. Each stay is limited to a maximum of 90 days, with a one-time extension option for another 90 days, making it a total of 180 days within a year.

This new visa scheme stands as a testament to Dubai’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations with India, fostering economic growth, and promoting cultural exchanges. It simplifies the process for Indian tourists, business travelers, and professionals seeking to explore, work, or engage in business activities within the UAE.
