Unlocking The Secrets of the Human Brain

The human brain is a masterpiece. So much so that even brain scientists are still searching for the secrets of the human brain. Millions being invested in large-scale national research projects hope to reveal how the brain learns, how it controls behavior and how it goes wrong. All very logical. “It is a golden age of brain science,” said Dr. Christof Koch. (nature.com)

So as you can see from the above the top scientists in the world still know very little about the brain's functionality and capabilities. Basically they're still at square one. This also came to light from the most epic TED talk of all time by brain researcher Jill Bolte Taylor, who allowed us to understand the magnitude of this organ through her experiences. So one thing is very clear to all of us, and that's that there are two sides of the brain that operate very differently - she shed some light on that in a very emotional and funny way.

The Left Side

According to the left side of the brain I'm an individual separate from everyone else. I have a clear definition of who I am, and this is a system designed to look out for #1: me. This logical side of the brain strives for order, and wants everything to be in its right place. Humans are made up of emotions but this side demands completely opposite things than the right side. And there is no good or bad to this, it's simply how the left side functions. The values here are having everything in its place, and a good dose of self-concern and ego.

The right side of the brain is truly a magnificent system. The problem is that it's hidden from our senses. We need to discover it in ourselves in order to acquire the correct language that will allow us to unlock the secrets of the human brain.

The Right Side

The right side of the brain is the total opposite - it's entire focus is on the collective. But since we don't have that type of thinking embedded into our psyche, we don't understand it. So the moment we talk about things like altruism and improving our human relationships everyone runs for the exits. Our ears block up, and I can tell you from personal experience that it can take years for these concepts to penetrate.

The right side of the brain is truly a magnificent system. The problem is that it's hidden from our senses. We need to discover it in ourselves in order to acquire the correct language that will allow us to unlock the secrets of the human brain. Since they don't exist in our current senses we can't even describe them. Imagine the most incredible feeling you've ever had and multiply that by 8 million - it's actually impossible. The right side of the brain is a reciprocal system and the next level of our human development. It's really not hard to reveal what awaits us in this system but neither of these systems - nor the right or left side can help us. Since this is a closed system we need to find an access point. The system is not good or bad to us. But if we try to maintain the system using only the right side or left side's values it won't help us. The values for the right side are altruism, vast unlimited spaces, a full spectrum of feelings, colors, and smells. It's a circular collaborative system that we have to start understanding.

So What's The Secret? Finding the Access Point

At the moment we're still quite stuck in our old thinking, and therefore running the wrong race. Until we discover how these two systems complement one another, without cancelling any part of either system such as our linear development or wide development such as our desire to explore other countries and culture. Only by finding the middle line will we be able to organize life in a good way. As long as each side keeps trying to cancel the other and hang onto its own perspective, this will keep us in today's state that will continue to deteriorate. The correct use of the brain is combining the two sides through our relationships. To get further into this we'll need to learn how to combine our emotions and intelligence - there's really no way around this. In order to accelerate our development we need to learn to apply the two correctly.

The correct use of the brain is combining the two sides through our relationships. To get further into this we'll need to learn how to combine our emotions and intelligence.

99% Of Your Business Assets are People

Everything mentioned here will come to be in all areas of our lives: education, culture, political, and the business world. Companies will need to make adjustments to suit their technical/professional goals for succeeding together to the development of their main asset and that's their people. I believe this is quite obvious to everyone now but things are still business as usual for the most part. We're not seeing any major shifts beyond all the new dilemmas - hybrid or office, diversity and inclusion, employee engagement, vacation time, etc. Mastering all that using our intelligence is becoming a full time job. The message I'm trying to get across is that we need to start combining the right side of the brain in the business world - and then things will get really interesting. None of this will come naturally. We're going to have to consciously invest in human connection.

Cerebral “self-hacking” to enhance or restore damaged cognitive pathways and for pain management. It is an absolutely fascinating area of medical research. It has gained some attention because of suspected COVID-19 impacting cognitive abilities in some long COVID patients. Thanks for sharing.
