The Unseen Path: When Passion Evolves Beyond Expectation
For years, I thought the imperfectly perfect campaign would be my “end-all”—the pinnacle of my efforts and the legacy I’d leave behind. But as time passed, I noticed a shift. While my commitment to my mission has never wavered, I began to uncover new passions and talents through the process. I discovered an unexpected love for business development, forming strategic partnerships, working with other organisations, and even stepping into speaking engagements. These were areas I hadn’t initially envisioned for myself, yet they began to ignite a fire in me that I couldn’t ignore.
Philanthropy as a Foundation
The Imperfectly Perfect Campaign became my philanthropic endeavour—a space where I continue to pour into others, giving back in ways that feel deeply meaningful. It’s a cornerstone of who I am and what I represent. But alongside this, I came to realise that the skills I gained through building everything—the networking, the storytelling, the problem-solving, the different facets of business—all equipped me for something I never anticipated: thriving in the business world.
The Business Spark
What started as a necessity—learning how to navigate partnerships, secure funding, and manage large-scale initiatives—evolved into a genuine passion. I found that I began loving the strategic side of things: identifying opportunities, connecting the right people, and bringing ideas to life.
There’s something incredibly rewarding about seeing a vision come to fruition, not just through inspiration but through intentional action and planning.
I also discovered a deep appreciation for the art of negotiation and partnerships. Whether forming alliances with organisations or exploring mutually beneficial partnerships it became exciting in finding ways to create value for everyone involved, and I started to thrive on that challenge.

Speaking and Storytelling
Another unexpected joy has been speaking. Sharing my story on stages and with organisations allowed me to connect with people in profound ways. I never imagined myself as a speaker, but the more I started to do it, the more I realised the impact I had. It wasn't about just about delivering a message; it became about inspiring action, sparking change, and helping others see their potential.
Embracing the Evolution
If you had told me years ago that I’d shift my primary focus from IPC to a blend of business and speaking, I might not have believed you. I was so sure of my path. But what I’ve learned is that life has a way of surprising us, often in the best ways. My work with IPC laid the foundation, but it also opened doors I didn’t even know existed.
I realised that passion doesn’t have to be confined to one thing. It can grow, change, and lead you to places you never imagined. For me, the blend of philanthropy and business is where I’ve found my balance. One fuels my heart, the other challenges my mind, and together, they create a life that feels both purposeful and fulfilling.
A Message for You
If you’re feeling uncertain about where your passions might lead, or if you find yourself pivoting in ways you didn’t expect, know this: it’s okay to evolve. What you thought was your ultimate purpose might just be a stepping stone to something even greater. Trust the process, stay open to new opportunities, and don’t be afraid to embrace the unexpected. You might just find, as I have, that the path you never saw coming is the one you were meant to take all along.
