URC's Annual Sales Meeting - Pittsburgh Style

Through a unique combination of geography, natural resources, and transportation, Pittsburgh became America’s “Steel City” in the 1870’s.  One hundred years later, United Refractories Co. was founded and has called Pittsburgh home ever since. There was no better setting for us to gather last week for our Annual Sales Meeting than the place where it all began. 

The theme of the week was “YOUNIFY,” a rallying cry that highlights not only the powerful machine we are when operating in unison, but also emphasizes the invaluable role of personal accountability in meeting the needs of our customers and partners.  “What role will YOU play?” was the question we used to challenge ourselves personally and corporately as the week unfolded.

As we celebrated another remarkable year of successes, we also focused keenly on a strong finish to the year and the best way to accelerate opportunities as we move into 2025 utilizing a fresh arsenal of products, services and world-class facilities.  One key opportunity was highlighted by an excellent presentation by Matthias Born from Steuler Refractory Linings .  Thank you, Matthias, for you time, knowledge, and infectious energy!

🏆 An annual tradition we all look forward to is the celebration of the recipient of the Rick Falkowski "Falcon Award" which recognizes dedication, expertise, and outstanding performance. Congratulations, Tom Oliver on receiving the 6th Annual Falcon Award, a well-deserved honor highlighting your years of dedication to serving our customers so well! 🏆

✨ It was a week full of excitement and energy as we discussed opportunities, challenges, strategies, investments, innovation, and technology.  As the proverb says, “If you want to go fast, go alone.  If you want to go far, go together.”  Looking forward to an exciting fourth quarter and seeing just how far this YOUNIFIED team will go. 🥂
