Use the new prebuilt Facilitator agent

Use the new prebuilt Facilitator agent

Microsoft Ignite 2024 was a blast - and we are already starting to see changes in our environment. So welcome back to Copilot Your Day, your weekly LinkedIn newsletter about Copilot.

We are in the final sprint to 3,000 subscribers.🤯 Will we make it in 2024? 😎

If you like my newsletter I would really appreciate your shares, likes and comments to reach even more people.

Microsoft has several pre-built agents that were announced at Ignite last week. I really believe that Copilot agents will add so much value to users.

Check out all the Copilot announcements in my Copilot Your Day episode from last week. 👇

Meetings and chats are essential for collaboration, but managing them can be tedious and expensive. Keeping track of multiple group chats can be overwhelming and important information can get lost. Hiring someone just to make sure meetings run smoothly adds to the cost. But fear not! There's the Faciliator agent to take care of it 😎

Facilitator agent live in action

This agent will look after you and your colleagues and work for both of you! It will help you work together more effectively, both in Team meetings and in Team chats.

When do we get access to the Facilitator agent?

The Facilitator agent is already in preview. When you are able to move your teams to Preview, you will be able to enable it in existing chats. And it will automatically be enabled for all new chats.

Where can we access the Facilitator agent?

This new pre-built agent is available in Team Chats and Team Meetings. You'll see a notification that the agent is enabled.

If you open a new chat, it will be enabled automatically:

You can also enable it in existing chats. Just click on the notes icon (1) and select "turn on" (2).

What happens when I enable the Facilitator Agent?

As you can see in the print screen below, everyone in the chat has been notified that Ai-generated notes have been turned on. Copilot will then take notes for you while the chat continues.

I think this is a great use case, especially if you are in a large group chat with a lot going on, you always have a place to go to catch up on the latest discussions.

It also identifies action items and lists them right at the bottom.

How does the Facilitator agent work in Teams meetings?

While we are starting with real-time notetaking today, we know there are additional tasks that the Facilitator can take on to make meetings more effective. Eventually the Facilitator will manage the meeting from end-to-end – from managing the agenda to taking notes, moderating discussions, and managing and completing action items. (microsoft.com)

Now it's your turn! Let's try it

This is the first of many new and upcoming agents. The great thing about this one is that it's already built and ready to use. All you have to do is activate it.

I have already activated it in most of my chats and will definitely use it in my meetings.

Will you give it a try? What do you think of this approach and this agent? Let me know in the comments.

So let's continue Copilot Your Day and see you next week!
