Using Data and Analytics for Operational Excellence

Using Data and Analytics for Operational Excellence

Gain an advantage through data-driven decision-making.

The National Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031 aims at positioning the UAE as a global leader in artificial intelligence by 2031, and to develop an integrated system that employs artificial intelligence in vital areas within the UAE. One term that is used to promote the benefit of AI is operational excellence.

But what is operational excellence exactly? And how can you use AI to create continuous improvement? The answer is that most businesses already have a key to get there in their back pockets – their data.

AI can drive operational excellence in government.

It all starts with making their mission measurable—and asking the right questions to connect operational data with mission outcomes.

Firstly there is no “one size fits all” in AI. Your business has specific software in particular computing environments. For instance, if your company already has a “chatbot” that can interact with your customers and deal with their problems and issues, AI has the capability of enhancing that particular software. AI is reigning supreme when it comes to operational excellence in optimising logistics and efficiency when it comes to the tracking and management of your assets.

Simply speaking; use smarter analytics to dive into data in order to save time, money, and energy. Governments manage three main categories of resources: people, physical assets, and budget. We look briefly at how data can aid these three main categories:

People - Human capital is the biggest and most critical resource that any entity has to manage, often exceeding a third of the total budget. Data analytics can help entities decide how to deploy staff for maximum effectiveness.

Equipment and physical assets - The second major category of resources include physical assets, from IT hardware and biometric equipment to field offices. Modern analytic tools support more objective decisions for allocating these assets.

Budget - The third critical resource government employs to achieve its mission is funding, such as grants, loans, and guarantees. How should government agencies decide which organizations should receive a grant?

Many government agencies are looking at data to improve their resource decisions but may lack
