Vanke Daxiang
Suzhou is a city steeped in history, renowned for its traditional gardens and waterside scenery. However, as modernization progresses, Suzhou is also evolving toward urbanization. This demands that the design of new buildings fuse traditional and modern elements to create a unique contemporary urban aesthetic.
The Vanke Daxiang residential development was born out of this context. The project consists of 18 towers of 14 storeys and 268 duplexes of 4 storeys, covering a total area of approximately 125,000 square meters. It is located in the eastern suburbs of Suzhou, adjacent to the Tianping Mountain Forest Park and the Taihu Lake Scenic Area, providing a beautiful and ecologically livable environment.
In the design of Vanke Daxiang, the architects have combined stacked villas and high-rise buildings to enrich the diversity of residential products. This not only provides residents with more options, but also enhances the visual impact of the entire project. In addition, the position and change of building height from north to south not only creates a more layered appearance for the project, but also optimizes natural light and ventilation.
The facade features overlapping volumes to obtain the best views for each unit and to create a modern design. Balconies, double-height spaces, and cantilevered structures, framed by aluminum mesh and vertical screens, maximize the surrounding views while maintaining privacy. The facade shading devices allow winter sunlight to penetrate through the glass into the units and provide effective shading during summer days, creating a comfortable indoor atmosphere.
The intricate connections between the residences, the landscape, and the river offer a unique journey designed to allow seamless connection through the peaceful and tranquil atmosphere created by Vanke Yangshan for its inhabitants.
