Vibratory Bowl Feeder for feeding three types of plugs

Elscint recently manufactured a set of vibratory bowl feeders, one for feeding of plugs of various sizes. The requirement was to feed the plugs with the mouth up. The thickness of the plug as well the mouth diameter were different. The plugs came either with the mouth on one side or else in the front. An easy orientation tooling mechanism was provided to ensure that the mouth was aligned in one direction and then the plug was twisted to stand up with the mouth up. This ensured negligible changeover between the various sizes. Ahead of the bowl feeder, a 600 mm long linear track with ELSC70 Linear Vibrator was provided with a sensor to switch off the bowl feeder once the track was full. As against a requirement of 60 parts per minute, the speed achieved was between 65 to 80 parts per minute (depending upon the plug size. You can watch the video of the 3 plugs being fed.
