Volkswagen ID.7 Review
Our Sales Manager Adam Patrick had the pleasure of test driving the all-new all-electric Volkswagen ID.7 and here is what he had to say;
After a busy first month of the year, I have to say I was delighted to get a couple of days off to relax. We are fortunate in our job to drive some fantastic cars but those who know me know I’m generally not one to swoon over a new car or desperate to drive the latest release.
My passion for my job is speaking to different businesses, providing solutions, and saving them money on their vehicle fleet. However, as I was away for a couple of days, I took advantage of Volkswagen Belfast’s offer of the new VW ID7 Hatchback 210kW Launch Edition Pro 77kWh 5dr Auto and I have to admit, I was blown away.
This may be the last car review I will ever write because very little will compare to this in my simple view. In terms of comfort (massage seats were on constantly), handling, speed, technology, and design. Even the way the doors close sounds just like a Golf.
Too often manufacturers overcomplicate the design but in truth, a giant touchscreen in the middle with big app buttons is what I wanted. The heads-up display and birds-eye camera were a classy touch (certainly helped me park on the Ormeau road at lunchtime) and the safety features in all modern cars – lane keep assist, speed warning – were all there but beautifully subtle.

In terms of range, it was never a worry. As a current EV driver, I always have one eye on the range but I took the ID.7 with 330 miles range, I drove about 150 miles and it now has 165 miles on the clock which is not bad in winter. Very impressed.
