WARNING! Enterprise Rent-a-Car Damage Claim Scam Alert!

Hello Enterprise Rent-a-Car Patrons;

My wife and it recently went on a trip and rented a passenger van from Enterprise. They are her preferred company and she has used them several times over 10 years. She was huffing and puffing. As I saw the distress in her face I asked her what was wrong.

She told me that she just received a damage claim on the van we rented. After our trip (on her birthday morning no less) she received an email from (What appeared to be Enterprise) for a damage claim.

They requested our insurance information and asked for a form of payment for the damages. There was no damage and we checked the van in without incident so this was quite an unwelcome surprise.

Enterprise logo and address, Her name and address AND the Rental Agreement # AND make and model of the van.

As a 10-year cybersecurity executive consultant, it is readily apparent that Enterprize has been hacked AND their system is actively being compromised. If you look closely the response email is bogus. However, it fooled her and she was on the phone in a flash. Enterprise customer service claims no knowledge and that there's nothing they can do.

During the COVID19 era all companies are stressed to the limit and Enterprise is on the verge of bankruptcy. There is no one to call (they don't answer the phone. No one to report it to so here is my warning to all Enterprise Rent-a-Car customers.

We received the same from Enterprise Mobility. We rented a car through National in 9/2023 without incident and returned it - no damage noted during the inspection upon return. Almost a year later, we got the 1st communication claiming we returned it with damage to the front end and a punctured tire. After much back & forth with different people (DRU1, DRU3, Michelle G., Micah.V, Labriyah J.) we sent a detailed email to DRU3 w/ supporting documents, putting it back on them to address all the inconsistencies and to show definitive proof that it occurred during our rental period and not during the 46 days and 2,651 miles AFTER the car was returned, which is when the estimate was dated. We got a generic email saying to allow 2 weeks for further investigation. Two weeks later, we got an email threatening collections from Labriyah - not 1 single thing had been addressed. UPDATE: We immediately forwarded the same supporting documents/receipts, along with our unanswered questions to Labriyah asking her to please address them. She responded the next day to say she turned it over to collections and then blocked our email address from reaching everyone we'd communicated with when we tried to resend to all involved.

I received the same email last 2024-08-27, but from Alamo. Not sure what to do now.

Going through this right now. Rented a car two months ago and received a letter exactly the same with pictures of a damaged door handle. There was NO damage when the employee did an inspection and nothing was mentioned at the time. I've google this number and everything points to scam! Beware friends...
