Are there ways to make money online?

While most of my clients want to use their website as part of their marketing plan, some actually want to use their website as another revenue stream. They've heard that there are ways to make money online, and I'm more than happy to help them do this as well.

In most cases, I prefer to partner with the website owner in this type of venture. This is a great opportunity to expand your reach as an expert well beyond the local market, reaching a global audience, while building up a great list of prospects for your own business.

Essentially what I recommend is that the business owner create a product, such as an ebook or a course. They then use that product as something that can be sold online anywhere in the world. Delivery is electronic, and the process is actually automated. There's zero overhead to this.

From there, the website is marketed in all the ways I've mentioned before. On top of that, we use a system of affiliate sales (having other website owners sell the product for you, in exchange for a commission) to maximize the reach of the product without having to spend too much on promotions.

This has several advantages to the business:

* electronic delivery of the product enables the collection of contact information (leads)

* establishment of an effective instructional product makes you the expert in your field

* you can tap into markets you never would have reached with your brick-and-mortar business

* more affiliates promoting your product creates a huge back linking network for your website

* additional services, such as live training workshops, can be added to your business profile

* having an email list of targeted customers also gives you the opportunity to sell other people's information products, often at a 50-75% commission

This is one of my favourite ways to generate extra sales online for businesses. It's relatively simple to do, and even if you're not a great writer it can be delivered in a variety of formats, including PDF, online, video, or audio courses.
