While speaking with a potential client today, he summed up his experience with 3rd party contingency recruiters with a statement that I have heard more and more recently.

 I just feel that they throw anything at me and hope that it sticks.

This is literally something we are constantly running into.

 Poor customer service.

 Vulture mentality has caused a dramatic shift in opinion of how hiring managers look at using 3rd party recruiters.

 Recruiters are blacklisted, sent to spam folders, and turned away because the taste in the mouth of decision makers is unfavorable.

 And that is 100 PERCENT JUSTIFIED!

 It has been earned by years of cutthroat tactics that would make a used car salesmen look like a saint.

 We spend every day explaining to previously scorned clients that there are really other alternatives to hiring the best talent than paying massive fees that reach well into the thousands.

It is an uphill battle, but I am confident that other agencies and independent recruiters are going to realize that they have to make a massive shift in how they approach new clients in this ever-changing industry.

 Value-based strategies will become the norm as companies look to hire the best talent at the lowest price possible because… IT MAKES SENSE!

In 2014, the average contingency fee hovered right around 15k. PER NEW HIRE.

 This is all well and good for Fortune 500 companies. If they want to throw away money, then more power to them, but for emerging businesses that are looking to stretch budgets in order to grow, it is a losing investment.

 We Are sharing this opinion because we want to help spearhead this shift.
