We protect their assets so they can protect you
The importance of a comprehensive plumbing maintenance contract for healthcare facilities
Prior to being awarded the contract for a large healthcare provider in Victoria's West, the client had been maintaining a fully operational hospital, broken down into 10 sections with three of those sections being sensitive in nature; that act as an aged care facility, include day surgeries and host cancer patients, on minimal and extremely limited data. This meant the big picture was fragmented with local plumbers being engaged as needed to service the site for minor repairs and basic compliance PPM servicing.
Fast-forward ⏩
In addition to the main facility and its sectors, NPS now services 8 external sites for the client, meaning they now have greater visibility of their assets for the entire organisation. Key to informed decision-making and proactive financial savings, we understand how valuable this data is to our clients.
Within the first three months, we completed an asset verification process where we built a brand new database for the client. This data provided critical data fields including buildings, location and what is serviced by each asset, and our recommended fields; accessibility requirements, preferred times of servicing and condition ratings.
Originally the client assumed there was a total of 1037 assets, after our verification process we were able to identify an additional 45 assets bringing the asset total to 1082. Importantly, we detected 31 defects classified as compliance or health risks. Based on the collection of all the client's assets, we customised a preventive planned maintenance programme, with capacity available for reactive maintenance services.
🚽 Our works include:
➡️ Servicing varied sites: aged care facilities, day beds, long-term stay for patients, surgery rooms, office spaces, youth facilities, Aboriginal facilities, and community spaces

➡️ In-depth preventive planned maintenance schedule that regulates compliance items such as backflows and TMV services
➡️ Maintenance of health-related assets such as toilet and basin inspections
➡️ Completing day-to-day reactive maintenance and larger capital work projects
By deploying this proactive programme we have been able to assist the client in significant cost-savings, opting to manage assets more effectively over their lifetime.
