We watched 122 Halloween Costume TikToks—Here are this year's 10 most mentioned costumes

Halloween is a sacred event unlike any other holiday. It’s not rooted in family gatherings, gift-giving, or stuffing your face with turkey. No, it is the one time of the year you can show off your creativity and months of preparation. 

After two months of watching Halloween trend after Halloween trend on TikTok, we social sleuths at Hootsuite think we have the answer to the question — what was the most mentioned costume of the year? 

Over the past month, we looked at TikTok video views for the answer. We found that Batman, Spiderman, Squid Games, Fairy, and Harley Quinn costume videos had the highest view count. But, we wanted to learn more. So we dedicated two hours of our lives to watching 122 Halloween costume inspo TikToks and tallied which costumes were mentioned the most times. 

Here’s what we found. Drumroll, please!

The tenth most mentioned Halloween costume this year was The Snowflake Queen herself!

9. Barbie

It’s Barbie’s world and we’re just living in it.

8. Black Swan 

This costume is on point, literally. 

7. Freddy Krueger 

The only horror baddie to make the list, perfect for the girls and ghouls. 

6. Cassie & Maddie from Euphoria 

You and your bestie + some rhinestones = shining bright on Halloween night. 

5. Cowboy 

A Cowboy is a classic Halloween go-to. 

4. Daphne & Velma 

Before there was Maddie and Cassie, there was Daphne & Velma, Coolsville’s it girls. 

3. Angel 

Dark or heavenly, the choice is up to you!

Maybe a Jack Sparrow-inspired look or just a white top, corset, and a hat. Either way, don’t forget the rum!
