🚀🗳️🌁📈💫 This week in Bay Area business: tech stocks surge, Nordstrom Back and ... some elections

No shortage of news this week, in the Bay Area and beyond.

Some of it sobering, some of it shocking. Wherever you are we hope you are keeping safe and well.

There were some elections, of course, with San Francisco electing a new mayor and Oakland looking set to recall an existing one.

What the results of all these local and national polls will mean for Bay Area residents and businesses remains to be seen.

Some prominent local companies saw a jump in their share price this week while others were left to ponder what the future might hold. While a contagion of cap doffing seemed to infect several local CEOs.

There was also a Fed rate cut to digest, a notable AI land grab, Nordstrom coming back to S.F. in a big (and small) way and IKEA being . . . cool?

And for anyone just looking to get away from it all there was some flying car news and a new bar opening in Union Square for anyone needing a drink.

So, just another week in Bay Area business really.
