1.      AEMO warns consumers about potential blackouts due to a heatwave.

2.      The federal government has announced a review of the NEM’s wholesale market settings considering the design of the market post-2030.

3.      According to the Climate Change Authority Australia isn’t in progress to achieve the 2030 emissions goal and it needs to fall by 15 Mt CO2e each year (it fell by 3 Mt in FY 2024).

4.      The AEMC released their analysis of residential electricity trends and estimates that prices could be 13% lower in ten years’ time if the transition proceeds as AEMO expects.

5.      Retailers now need to receive customer consent to change their retail tariff after getting a smart meter installed on their premises.
