New report: No recorded collisions between floating offshore wind turbine and birds
For more than two years, the floating offshore wind turbine TetraSpar at METCentre off the coast of Norway has been monitored by a bird camera. No collisions have been recorded
The extensive bird mapping is the first of its kind in Norway. “The knowledge we have gained through this project will be valuable for understanding the coexistence between birds and wind turbines”, says Arvid Nesse, CEO of METCentre and Norwegian Offshore Wind.
New analysis of repercussions from offshore wind will be launched at Havvindkonferasen

The report is performed by Menon Economics and will be presented on stage and discussed in a panel discussion afterwards. The report is commissioned by Norwegian Offshore Wind, Offshore Norway, Innovation Norway and EKSFIN.
Join us on Tuesday to be the first to hear about the findings and discuss them with 300 industry representatives, politicians and stake holders. Havvindkonferansen and the report is in Norwegian, but an executive summary in English will be made available.
