Digitalization is a Necessary Condition for Success in Offshore Wind

Digitalization will play a decisive role in Norwegian energy supply. This applies to all types of power production but is especially crucial for the development and operation of offshore wind power on the Norwegian continental shelf, writes Elling Rishoff from our Working Group for Digitalization.

“Our ability to build an efficient digital infrastructure with value-creating digital services will determine whether offshore wind contributes to increased value creation and sustainable societal development. This foundation must be a wise combination of experience (what we have learned from onshore wind, maritime, and offshore industries) and innovation (what we must learn about offshore wind) through collaboration between existing and new industry players”

November 14 you can hear more of DNVs reflections and learn about RDS in our open webinar.

Prepare for the Portuguese auction at the annual WaVec seminar in Lisbon December 3-4

Organized by WavEC Offshore Renewables in collaboration with the Embassy of Norway in Portugal, Innovation Norway, and Norwegian Offshore Wind, this event will focus on the theme “Portugal and Norway: Fostering Offshore Wind Supply Chain Development."

The seminar offers a valuable opportunity for industry professionals to explore collaboration opportunities and discuss advancements in the marine renewable energy sector.

The Portuguese Minister for the Environment and Energy has recently guaranteed that by the end of November, the Allocation Plan for Offshore Renewable Energies (PAER) will go to the Council of Ministers and be approved. This means that the auction will come in 2025, so the timing to explore this market is perfect. Members of Norwegian Offshore Wind will have a discount on participation.
