Edgbaston Park Hotel wins top sales and marketing team of 2024
University of Birmingham’s Edgbaston Park Hotel has scooped a top spot at the Meetings Industry Association (miaList) Awards.
Edgbaston Park Hotel & Conference Centre won the Sales & Marketing Team of the Year award – an accolade which honours teams in the UK’s business meetings and events sector that have made remarkable contributions to their organisations and the industry at large.
Judges recognised the achievements of the on-campus hotel, which was recently named Hotel of the Year at the Midlands Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards.
Over the past 12 months, the hotel’s sales and marketing team has helped to surpass total sales budgets by 25% with a total occupancy growth of seven per cent. They have also grown the hotel’s social media following by over 50%.
They have maintained high customer satisfaction, with a 94% score for enquiry experience and 92% for the event coordination experience. Team retention and engagement has increased, with a 96% retention rate and 94% average engagement survey rate, supported by clear career pathways and hybrid work options.

Lime Venue Portfolio Unveils New ‘E’ Guide on Sustainable Event Planning
Lime Venue Portfolio has introduced its first-ever ‘E’ Guide on Environmental Event Planning, kicking off a new series of practical resources focused on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) for event organisers.
This new series builds on the brand’s previous success with its award-winning Beyond Food reports and the Meeting of the Future digital platform. The guides are designed to equip member venues and event planners with actionable strategies for hosting ESG-conscious events.
Over the next 12 months, Lime Venue Portfolio will release a guide dedicated to each aspect of ESG. The series launches this week with the ‘E’ Guide at Event Sustainability Live, taking place at London ExCeL on 20-21 November. The ‘S’ Guide will follow in the spring at International Confex, with the ‘G’ Guide debuting at The Meetings Show.

Salem Retibi appointed Venue Director at 30 Euston Square
30 Euston Square , the award-winning events venue in central London, has appointed Salem Retibi - MIH to the position of Venue Director.
Salem brings with him over two decades of exemplary leadership in the hospitality industry and joins from Tewinbury Farm Hotel where he was Operations Director for the past 13 years. Under his leadership, Salem helped elevate venue standards at the Hertfordshire destination with the hotel consistently exceeding revenue targets, achieving outstanding guest satisfaction scores, and winning multiple industry awards.
