Guidehouse, a Veritas Capital portfolio company, has agreed to buy the public sector advisory practice of professional services firm Grant Thornton for an undisclosed sum. The transaction would add to Guidehouse a group of professionals who advise government clients with solutions on various matters such as information technology, finance and human capital management.

BAE Systems has beaten out a team of Oshkosh Defense and ST Engineering for a seven-year, $278 million U.S. Army contract to produce a modernized ground vehicle designed to operate in the Arctic region and other extreme cold weather environments. The Beowulf amphibious tracked platform won the Cold Weather All-Terrain Vehicle competition to replace the branch’s legacy fleet of Small Unit Support Vehicles, the company said Monday.
