Research: How WFH Can Actually Strengthen Bonds Between Co-workers

Recent return-to-office mandates have been partially predicated on the belief that employees are able to form richer relationships in person than they can working remotely. New research, however, found that remote work can actually make coworkers feel closer by giving them authentic glimpses into each others nonwork lives through video calls. The researchers analyse their findings to offer suggestions for managers considering the benefits — and costs — of calling employees back in.

Work-From-Home Levels Reach Lowest Since 2020—But Remote Work Still Dominates These Industries

Work-from-home levels in the U.S. have dropped to their lowest point since the spring of 2020, with employees working only 26.6% of their full paid days from home in May as people increasingly return to the office, according to the latest data from WFH Research, though working from home still dominates several white-collar industries.

Skills Bootcamp: Aspiring Leaders for Digital Transformation - Short Courses

The Aspiring Leaders for Digital Transformation (ALDT) Bootcamp is a comprehensive, 60-hour guided learning program designed to equip aspiring leaders with the skills and confidence to lead in a rapidly changing digital landscape. Personal and Professional Development: This boot camp is designed to help individuals understand and develop their leadership abilities....

This program is especially beneficial for individuals looking to strengthen their leadership capabilities, improve their adaptability to digital changes, and become better prepared for leadership roles in today’s rapidly transforming digital landscape.

Delivered by Birmingham City University, this program combines in-person sessions with online support, providing a flexible learning experience ideal for employed professionals over 16 weeks.

Course fees

Employers who wish to upskill their personnel using the Skills Bootcamp programme will be charged dependent on business size:

  • Registered self-employed/sole trader: free of charge
  • SME (10% of total course value): £312
  • Large organisation (30% of total course value): £936

The remainder will be funded by the Department for Education.

Skills Bootcamp: Climate Literacy for Sustainable Futures

Skills Bootcamps are intensive short-term training courses that provide you with an invaluable opportunity to gain sought-after, sector-specific skills as part of the government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee to help everyone gain skills for life.

The Climate Literacy Bootcamp will provide you with new skills, knowledge, and a holistic understanding of climate literacy, as highly valued assets in the Net-Zero era. Sessions are guided by the UN Sustainability Development Goals (UNSDGs) as you apply the learning process as a framework to a professional or personal project.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Meet the Department for Education's Skills for Life eligibility requirements
  • GCSE English Language and Mathematics at grade C/ 4 or above
  • Equivalent level 2 or above qualifications can be accepted
  • Be in employment or registered self-employment in a relevant sector
  • Provide proof of a Right To Work in the UK or a Share Code for international workers
  • Either live or work in the West Midlands or looking to increase work in the region
  • Entry requirements must have been achieved before or at the point of enrolment.
