Welcome to my weekly ABCs...

Welcome to my weekly ABC's, sent every Tuesday morning, whereby I will share three things, all of which are quick to read and easy to put into action.

A = Affirmation

My well-being is my top priority.

An affirmation is a great way to start training your mind toward a positive way of thinking. Combined with other positive thinking exercises, a decisive affirmation will help you overcome any obstacle that is in front of you. The object of these positive thinking exercises is to ensure that you train the most powerful muscle in your body: your brain.

Now, more than ever, your well-being is super important, with so many people staying indoors, with the fridge beckoning you every time you pass it, keep your health (both physical and mental) top of mind.

B = Business Thoughts

Zoom-itis is a real thing!

There has been so much reference to video conferencing over the past few weeks; it might be Zoom, Hangouts, Meet, Teams, Webex, House Party or GoToMeeting, to name a few. For those of us used to these virtual meetings, great, but sometimes you can have way too much of a good thing.

There were some great comments from a Linkedin colleague Ro GORELL last week, all of which garnered heaps of positive attention. With the reference drawn from a recent BBC article on the subject, suffice to say, videoconferencing is making us all more tired and testing our collegiate relationships and thoughts via a warped perception of time, intrigued, read on here.

C = Coaching Thoughts

There is a BIG difference between all that have the fortune to call Professional Coaching a chosen career; there are Coaches that specialise in all areas, from Life to Eating to Career and Leadership, plus everything in between.

Not trying to be biased, but when looking to engage or work with a coach, please follow the following guide:

  1. Do they have experience in what you require?
  2. What professional credentials do they hold?
  3. Do they have the appropriate insurance in place?
  4. Can they provide written reference or testimonials?
  5. Do you get a "good feeling" when you engage?

There is no set concrete rule to choosing a Professional Coach, go with whom you feel best with and make sure you do your homework on everything, like the above and what YOU want to achieve, at the end of the day, a Coach is there, for one thing, that's YOU.

Thanks again for your attention this week, lookout for the next issue of the ABC's on Tuesday morning.

Onwards, Damian
