The first story we need to REEtell is how Altree originated.

As a third-generation developer, our CEO and President, Zev Mandelbaum, is deeply ingrained in the industry’s fabric. With many years of experience in the industry, and after co-founding another development company, Zev was inspired to branch out from the ordinary and create Altree Developments in 2018.

At the core of Altree lies an unwavering commitment to creating value in real estate through development and community building, born from a profound passion for both. Zev’s visionary leadership propels Altree forward, drawing from the rich legacy of his esteemed family. Altree is beyond just a company, it is a testament to the enduring legacy of generations dedicated to shaping the landscapes of tomorrow.

The name ‘Altree’ consists of three parts which reflect our vision, mission, and purpose.

‘ALT’ represents our commitment to creating inspirational projects. Alt is specially defined as a version of something intended to challenge traditional values.

'REE' is defined as "to drive into a state of excitement; fire with enthusiasm."

‘TREE’ pays homage to Zev’s lineage and last name, Mandelbaum, which translates to Almond Tree in English.

Altree Developments is committed to challenging the status quo and breaking new ground. We believe in incorporating excitement and enthusiasm into all of our projects and work. We work to enhance the neighbourhoods we develop in, striving to create vibrant communities that offer new lifestyles and unforgettable experiences. Development extends beyond bricks and mortar; it's about crafting environments that enrich lives and foster meaningful connections. Through our projects, we aim to build not just structures but enduring communities that resonate with residents and visitors alike, transforming spaces into destinations and neighbourhoods into thriving hubs of activity and culture.

We continue to challenge the standard in finance and investments, marketing, and development. We successfully launched the first Trust IPO in Canada for our purpose-built rental development, West Side Square, in Jersey City, New Jersey. Our building launches have been incredibly successful, with 80% of Thirty Six Zorra selling within 6 weeks. We've also recently launched Vie L’Ven Resort & Residences in Sint Maarten. A project with world-class amenities and partnerships, Vie L’Ven will redefine luxury on the island.
