We're changing the lives of engineers, here's your chance to be a part!

Let me first tell you more about our journey and how we're solving a very classic Indian problem that'll touch an engineer's heart.

At Pesto, we've seen some incredible things happen in last few months. We started Pesto with the thought of changing the lives of 5.2 million engineers of India by getting them access to opportunities across the world. You can read about our journey here.

When I published this story, it was like a dream for us to make it happen. We wanted engineers to make 10x more money within 3 months for free and get much better learning opportunities by working with the best people around the world. On top of it, it'll be a fully remote job. Here are the following magical things that happened:

• People could stay in their hometown with their family.
• Women who had to compromise their careers can now work remote.
• Specially abled people can do amazing work without commute.
• We create jobs by converting global opportunities into domestic.

Not only this, we went ahead and created a model that made the program absolutely free upfront. We paid for their food, office and education. We decided to invest in them and get the returns once they succeed by taking a fixed percentage of their salary. This way we created a win-win situation for all. Today, it's been few months and couple of our batches have graduated with the average annual salary of $42,000 (30 Lakhs INR) which is constantly increasing with each batch.

Let me share one of the stories of a guy called Bharanidharan who graduated a month ago. Stories like these give us so much satisfaction and makes all out struggles and hustle worth it. Bharani grew up in a completely remote village and used to help his dad on farms. His day started with delivering milk of the 3 cows he used to manage before he would go to school. Here's an image of his house where he spent his life before college and his graduation picture. That's the power of education and internet.

He somehow managed to get into a good college in Chennai and always felt isolated as he was unaware of most of the things that his friends did, like a cellphone. Somehow he learned how to code and loved it.

He loved learning so much that he rejected an offer from Oracle(Dream job of his friends at college) of 6+Lakhs per year and did freelancing to make ~3 lakhs per year for 1-2 years as he wanted to prioritize learning over money.

He joined Pesto last winter and his hunger and passion to code was visible from day 1. Post graduation, Bharani was out of money but within a couple of weeks he had offers for more than $44,000+ from 2 different YC companies. He chose to accept one of those offers and went back to Chennai.

Now he's learning so much more and works remote that helps him visit his family often. He makes more money than his entire village and can now give retirement to his family.

Stories like Bharani's makes us proud of what we're trying to do. We aspire to redefine future of work by getting them global opportunities. We believe that distributed teams are the future of work and it'll help talent like Bharani from hidden world to find his rightful place.

There are many more people like him who're extremely hardworking and deserve their shot at this opportunity but they can't afford to lose their job as they don't have enough savings. So we came up with a plan to make all their dreams come true with your help! Here's what we have in mind:

We expect you to contribute 15-20,000 INR for a student every month for the duration of this program. We'll connect you to the students who need help directly and you can follow their journey with updates. You get this money back and the student will go on to help one more person from future batches to pay it forward.
