We’re G-Cloud Approved
You may have heard or seen recently, across various platforms, companies stating how they’ve successfully applied to be on the G-Cloud 14 framework. That includes us here at CEMBooks, we’re thrilled to be recognised as a supplier on the framework!
What is the G-Cloud framework?
The G-Cloud 14 commissioning framework is a UK government procurement initiative to facilitate the purchase of cloud-based services by public sector organisations. It provides a digital marketplace for companies to sell their products. A new framework is commissioned every two years, so we’re now on G-Cloud 14, following G-Cloud 13 and G-Cloud 12, aimed at assisting both suppliers and purchasers in the procurement process.
The framework offers services under three categories: cloud hosting for infrastructure as a service and platform as a service solutions, cloud software for software as a service solutions such as CEMBooks, and cloud support for specialist services to help organisations set up, maintain, and optimise cloud services. Suppliers are pre-vetted to ensure they meet regulatory and technical requirements, making the procurement process faster and more secure and reliable.
Benefits for purchasers
The framework adheres to public procurement regulations, ensuring transparency, fairness, and value for money in contracts. Public sector buyers can use the digital marketplace to search, compare, and directly procure services without a lengthy tendering process. There are benefits for both suppliers and purchasers, including reduced time and administrative burden associated with procurement processes, and a standardised contract template that reduces the need for separate lengthy contracts with individual suppliers.
It provides transparency for all services, as pricing and supplier information are openly available on the digital marketplace, and suppliers cannot charge more than what is advertised. Access to innovation is facilitated by a wide range of cutting-edge cloud solutions and expert consultancy services. The framework encourages competition among suppliers, driving innovation and cost-effectiveness.
Generally, it ensures that public bodies procuring through the G-Cloud framework know that the companies and products they are procuring comply with government data security standards. Services can be procured on demand, making it easy to scale and adapt to changing needs.
Generally, the companies that use the G-Cloud framework for procurement are public sector organisations in the UK, including central and local government, health services, educational institutions, and emergency services. Overall, it simplifies access to cloud technologies for UK public sector organisations, ensures that suppliers comply with appropriate legal frameworks, provides transparency and standardisation of contracts, and provides a smoother process for commissioning cloud-based services and products.
