Wes Paterson's Top Endo-Hacks!

When we look at the Endocrine System these areas are often associated with hormones that when released into the body perform a myriad of different functions throughout the entire human body system as a whole. With Biohacking and/or systems thinking, we look at the body as an intelligent self-regulating and self-repairing system rather than an outdated body as a machine model that many physicians and other individuals in the field of healthcare, still practice today. In terms of the Pareto principle (80/20 rule), if we can identify the 20% of issues in our clients that if corrected, will provide 80% of the results, we will be able to optimize the entire system more efficiently, allowing the clients we serve to live better, and more fulfilling lives.

Wes's Hack #1 – Think Better Thoughts

Ask yourself this question, 'Can I think better?' well, can you? Our thoughts are the seeds of creation, and ultimately this can even affect the glands in our brain. Thoughts can affect everything from our mood & demeanor, to personal performance, and even whether or not we see our lives as having meaning or purpose. Upon seeing a client for a therapy session, I always start my assessment process by checking the clients K-27. Failure to check the K-27 initially could result in errors in subsequent muscle test results, as the K-27 establishes this brain to body connection through resonance. Possible symptoms of a malfunctioning K-27 often show up as: fatigue, poor immune system, stress, depression, and/or anxiety. As practitioners we must also ensure that our K-27 is functioning properly, recognizing that our thoughts will affect our electromagnetic field and our resonance. This is important since as practitioners we need to be helping our clients improve, while ensuring we are not pulling them down.

After checking and correcting for any K-27 imbalance, we must then check and correct any cross-crawl imbalance identified. Possible symptoms for cross-crawl imbalance could include: dyslexia or difficulty reading, poor balance, poor spatial awareness, and the inability to distinguish left from right. By correcting the K-27 and cross crawl imbalances, our clients will begin to experience a reduction in stress, anxiety, worry, depression, frustration, confusion, and an overall improvement in mood, confidence, performance, and calm, in as little as 24-48 hours. Several children, youth, and adults have improved substantially after we have corrected these issues. With better control over their minds and emotions, previous behavioural issues seem to simply melt away, becoming a thing of the past.

Another service our company Sedona North™ offers is Access Bars® sessions. Once the body is aligned, Access Bars® can further help by activating 32 points on the head, known as the Bars®, balancing various areas in the brain, between the right & left hemisphere. One amazing tool I have found very beneficial, is to have the client commit to a 3-day practice of asking the question 'Who does this belong to?' for every thought, feeling and emotion that comes to mind. If upon asking the question, they begin to feel lighter in mind and body, they simply state 'Return to Sender' as the lightness indicates that the thought, feeling or emotion, belongs to someone else. Part of thinking better thoughts is to recognize those thoughts that belong to us, and those that don't. This awareness in of itself is life changing.

Wes's Hack #2 – Leverage Your Tools

If upon assessing your client you identify an anterior displacement of the spine, this may create a 'sypathetic response', commonly known as the fight or flight response. As a result, the client might also experience respiratory challenges in addition to anxiety and/or stress related symptoms. How do we correct it? Provided the client does not have a major pelvic issue present, simply have them lay face down placing a Styrofoam tube or rolled up towel, center of the chest, in a vertical position. After 15-20 minutes they will begin to feel relief as the spine naturally re-aligns back into its natural curve position. Sometimes I find applying light pressure on the client's shoulder blades can help release the spine if they are unable to naturally relax.

During your assessment, should you identify your client has a hiatal hernia, instead of a Styrofoam tube, simply place a tennis ball just below the inverted 'V' in the ribs. Initially the client will likely experience some discomfort, and may burp as built up gas is released. Within about 10-15 minutes, general discomfort will ease and cease and you can then remove the tennis ball. As a hiatal hernia can cause irritation to the vagus nerve, it can result in affecting the ability of the client to rest and relax. Pushing the stomach back down, and adding in a guided breathing process, in through the nose for a count of four, and out through the mouth for a count of four will help stimulate their parasympathetic system, for improved rest and relaxation.

Wes's Hack #3 – The Wolf of Wall Street

There is an early scene in the movie The Wolf of Wall Street where Leonardo Dicaprio's character is seeking guidance from Mathew McConaughey's character. During this scene Mathew McConaughey begins tapping his fist on his chest in rhythm to the sound he his humming. An interesting fact about this is that it wasn't originally written into the script. It is actually a ritual that Mathew does prior to performing, and when Leo saw him doing it on set, he suggested they add it in, and the rest is movie history!

Dr. John Diamond referred to this same technique in his book Your Body Doesn't Lie, describing it as the 'thymus thump'and goes on into extensive detail of the benefits of how we can enhance our 'Life Energy'by cultivating a practice of continual activation and stimulation of our thymus gland. Often I will suggest clients watch the movie The Wolf of Wall Streetor even Tarzanand adopt a practice of incorporating this daily life-energizing ritual!
