Wow, I'll never get those hours back…it was worth it.

I went down the rabbit hole to see what the “big dogs” were bringing to MineExpo in Vegas this year.

Caterpillar

🚛 930E PADT: A haul truck on a modular power-agnostic platform, supporting diesel, battery, or hydrogen fuel cell power, with dynamic charging and trolley assist options to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

Hitachi

🔋 EH4000 AC3 Full Battery Dump Truck: Hitachi will present the world’s first ultra-large full battery dump truck, featuring dynamic charging to optimize battery life, reduce vehicle weight, and maximize payload capacity.

⚡ EX-7 Electric Excavator: This excavator helps reduce CO2 emissions and eliminates the need for fuel and oil consumables, representing a significant step towards sustainable mining operations.

🚛 AC-3 Truck: Capable of switching between diesel and trolley modes, this truck reduces emissions and enhances efficiency, especially on uphill slopes where it can achieve twice the speed of diesel trucks.

🤖 Autonomous Haulage System (AHS): Combining advanced technologies with Wenco’s fleet management system, AHS enables unmanned operation at open-cut mines, optimizing efficiency and safety through automated navigation and collision avoidance.

Liebherr

🚛 T 264 Haul Truck: Featuring the latest Trolley Assist System, this 240-tonne machine will showcase Liebherr’s cutting-edge technology advancements designed to enhance efficiency and reduce emissions.

🔋 R 9400 E Electric Excavator: This 350-tonne excavator highlights over 40 years of Liebherr’s experience in electric excavators, equipped with a new cable reel solution for better maneuverability and various assistance systems to optimize operations.

🚜 PR 776 Dozer: Known for having the lowest fuel burn and greenhouse gas emissions in its class, this 70-tonne dozer will feature Liebherr’s Assistance Systems to boost productivity and operator support.

🚜 DL422iE Longhole Drill: This underground drilling solution, featuring the latest in iSURE® and Sandvik DrillConnect capabilities, showcases the future direction for battery-electric underground drilling applications.

Epiroc

🚜 Pit Viper 291 Drill Rig: Designed for larger diameter drilling in soft to medium ground conditions, this rig can handle holes between 171 mm to 311 mm in diameter. It features scalable automation, including fully autonomous drilling.

🔋 Boomer M20 with Battery Option: This drill rig, now available with a battery option, reduces emissions and noise, making it ideal for underground operations. It is engineered for high precision and productivity in challenging conditions.

💡 SmartROC D65 XLF: The latest generation of this drill rig includes smart features like automated drilling and rod handling, an intelligent fuel-saving system that cuts fuel consumption by 20%, and the capacity to drill down to a depth of 56 meters.

🚀 SmartROC T45: A tophammer surface drill rig designed for quarrying and construction, offering advanced options such as the Hole Navigation System (HNS), AutoPos, and ROC Manager to boost productivity and reduce fuel costs.
