What Can We Learn From Olympic Spirit In Business, Sports & Life
Each one of us has undying fire in our hearts and soles for something meaningful, magical, and memorable.
For many of us, the Olympics were exactly that.
Deep down, most of us wanted to experience the Olympics and Olympic dream by becoming Olympians as we as kids stayed glued to the television, rooting for our favorite athlete, team, nation.
Excitement to see the whole world coming together like in '80 was something super special. It felt so real, meaningful, magical, especially to a five-year-old that looked at the world with eyes full of wonder. Excitement beyond belief about countries represented, their geographical locations, flags, cultures, languages, and of course athletes. Nothing could stop us from staying up late while watching the competitions as we felt so much closer to the world and part of something extraordinary.
But over time, things changed. They changed so much that we even start questioning what, if anything, the Olympics are representing to us today. Is it a jaded adult in us? Is it a lack of leadership unwilling to collaborate and walk the talk? Is it because of sports and politics and so many political agendas? Is it due to the current social-economic landscape? Or is it due to the magnitude of issues and uncertainties that we are facing globally?
Somehow, we lost Olympic Spirit along the way...
The most important thing in the Olympics Games is not to win but to take a part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the sruggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well. ~ Olympic Spirit
As we take a deep breath and a moment to reflect, many of us fought well, especially during the last two years.
Many of us found ourselves on our knees, wondering if we would ever be able to stand up on our feet again. But we persevered. We stayed determined, courageous!
Most of us kept going supporting others along the way while pushing through our struggles.
The best part, we did not give up!

Further, as we take a closer look at the five Olympic rings, we have an excellent opportunity to remember the Olympic Movement! The movement that represents the union of the five continents that needs to be restored as we move forward in business, sports, and life.
We cannot underestimate the value of teamwork and collaboration!
All great achievements are accomplished through the exceptional effort of each athlete, team, or family member by giving their best. When everyone plays their role, magic happens.
The best part is that each one of us can create a positive ripple effect starting today on our journey to greatness through our exemplary leadership.
