What Is the Difference Between Screw and Plunger Extruder

Plastic extruder also belongs to one of the types of plastic machinery, plastic extruder can be basically classified into twin screw extruder, single screw extruder and rare multi-screw extruder and non-screw extruder. Extruder according to the direction of the head material flow and the Angle of the screw center line, and the head is divided into two categories of right Angle and oblique Angle, the shell of the head is generally fixed on the fuselage with bolts, the mold inside the head contains the mold core, and then the screw cap is fixed in the inlet port of the head, the interior of the mold core is also equipped with the mold core, and the center of the mold core and the mold core seat have holes. Its action is through the core wire. Plastic extruder auxiliary machine mainly includes straightening device, preheating device, cooling device, traction device, meter meter, spark testing machine, take-up device and so on.

According to the different types of pressure methods, the extrusion process can be divided into two kinds: continuous extrusion with screw extruder and intermittent extrusion with plunger extruder. Among them, the screw extruder is divided into single screw extruder and multi-screw extruder because of the number of screws.

The working mechanism of the screw extruder: the pressure and shear force generated by the rotation of the screw make the material plasticized and evenly mixed through the mouth molding; Some extruders can simultaneously complete a series of processes such as mixing, plasticizing and molding.

The plunger extruder first extrudes the plasticized material from the mouth die by means of the plunger pressure to achieve the forming effect. The material in the cylinder will be returned after the extrusion of the plunger, and the operation will be repeated after the addition of a new round of plasticized material, which is called intermittent operation, compared with the screw extruder, mainly in the mixing and mixing of the material.
