What do KC-10s and Gucci have in common?

Last week we highlighted Class of 2018 graduate Lt Col Andrew Baer who commands the 9th Air Refueling Squadron. LinkedIn does not allow for a lot of picture posting, so we wanted to dig a little deeper into the culture of his squadron and the KC-10's retirement!

#family Here is Lt Col Baer with his family in front of KC-10 79-1948 - Excalibur - the last of the KC-10s. This was taken only days ago, as the squadron prepared to divest the final Extender.

#diplomacy In January 2024, the 9 ARS operated a KC-10 around the world on a worldwide heritage tour, stopping in historic AMC operating locations to commemorate over 40 years of KC-10 service. They met with partners and allies, spreading goodwill and building partnerships. This particular image was a surprise water arch when they arrived in Christchurch, NZ.

#leadership What do the KC-10 and Gucci have in common? This patch is in their building lobby. Every day, Airmen of the 9 ARS walk under these legendary letters and sign, and they strive to meet the Gucci standard of excellence. It's more than a motto - it’s a way of life. It's exceptional performance and outstanding professionalism in everything we do.
