What do Labour's commitments mean for mental health?
Dear friend,
With the new Government taking shape this month, we’ve been actively engaging with the latest developments. In our recent podcast episode, I sat down with Thea to analyse Labour’s mental health commitments, offering reflections on where we believe they can go further. In addition, we submitted evidence to Lord Darzi’s independent investigation of NHS performance, sharing our insights into the state of mental health services to help shape a new 10-year health plan.
In the wake of the General Election, we emphasised the importance of getting the language and narratives right when it comes to mental health. We also continue to draw attention to the ongoing violence and siege in Gaza, highlighting the devastating effects of the occupation on the mental health of Palestinians and those affected globally.
Closer to home, we’ve witnessed distressing anti-immigrant, racist, and Islamophobic riots sweeping across England. The trauma and harm caused by these events are profound, and we continue to urge the Government to adopt a comprehensive strategy to address all forms of racism and discrimination and through the proposed Race Equality Act.

How we’re working with local systems to support mental health
Across the country, we're supporting councils, combined authorities and integrated care boards to make evidence-based decisions about their priorities for mental health. We bring our dedication to better mental health to every part of our work - from complex system-mapping to evidence reviews to stakeholder consultation.

4moWhat you fail to see is both Tory and Labour are the bad guys, they have been working in lockstep since 2020, 2024, they passed the baton and now they can blame each other. They both want to fleece this nation, they both waste our money, they both have their hand in with kick backs, they are both rotten to the core! How can one possibly trust Labour to be any better than their predecessors?
