Monday, January 6 |  2025 Kickoff Event

While the incoming administration represents a big change in the federal approach to climate policy, there is a tremendous opportunity for progress at the state and local level, and each of us has significant power to help make it happen. State and local policymakers need to step up and be more ambitious on climate-aligned policies. To get there, they should (a) join existing coalitions of leaders committed to climate progress, and (b) follow through on commitments to those coalitions. Kick off the new year with clarity and community!

ACTION PLAN  🌞 Encouraging state & local climate leadership in 2025

"The new administration represents a big change in the federal approach to climate policy. However, it does not spell doom and gloom. Momentum now shifts to states and cities, where there is significant opportunity for progress. In fact, state and local government action alone (i.e. without any major federal policy) can achieve nearly 75% of U.S. climate goals under the Paris Agreement."
