Who: All those interested in learning or sharing about what our current research is telling us about hope in #suicideprevention.

So much of what we hear about suicide creates a sense of hopelessness, but the truth is most people who experience suicidal intensity will not only live through it, many will grow through it. People find treatment that works, supportive communities and sobriety. Others leave poor relationships, toxic work environments and other soul draining environments.

In this #ElevateTheConvo Twitter Chat, some of the world's leading experts will share with us what we should be hopeful about. Here are the questions we will be discussing:

Questions:

  1. How have the research questions and research designs/processes related to suicide evolved over time? How does this evolution give us hope that our findings may lead to better outcomes?
  2. What gives you the most hope when you think about emerging trends in the research findings suicidology? How can the messengers of suicide prevention best share these findings?
  3. How are new collaborations and innovations in research moving the field forward (e.g., cross-discipline, lived experience integration, research to practice partnerships)?
  4. What does the future of research in suicide prevention hold?
