What have you done for humanity?

"What have you done for humanity?" I was watching a show the other day where a man was describing his near-death experience. He was 45, overweight, had a heart attack and died. While he was on the other side, during his life review, the question came up..."What have you done for humanity?" The man couldn't think of anything he had done in his 45 years on this planet that served others or helped others. He admitted to being a not-so-good guy, partying half his life away and hurting other people. It was then that he was told, you're going back. You're not staying here because you have to go back and make a difference in others lives. He didn't want to come back because he knew he was going to have to deal with changing his life but he didn't have a choice. He knew he had to come back here and make a difference so he began to change his life in order to make a difference. He got healthier, lost the weight, stopped smoking and drinking and began a life of service to others. What have we done for humanity? No, it doesn't mean we have to be perfect and it doesn't mean we have to give up our entire life in service of others but what it does mean is that we should try to make a difference in others lives. We can give a hand up to others when they need it. I'm not talking about a handout, I'm talking about a hand up to help your fellow man. What have you done for humanity? That is a statement that will forever stick with me and remind me to try and make a difference as much as I can. We've all been in the dark at one time or another in our life and for those of us that have made it through to the other side into the light, we should all try to help those who are in the dark in order to guide them into the light. We can't help everybody but we can plant the seeds that may help them in their journey. What have you done for humanity? We are all here to live, love, learn and teach one another. #humankindness #letsbebetterhumans #helpyourfellowman #ahandup #getrealwithrobin #THECOLLECTIVE @AuthorRobinCote
