What Is It That Makes YOU Happy?

Do you spend a ridiculous amount of time searching for people, places and things to make you happy?

If so…. is it working for you?

Remember when you were a kid and you could be happy doing just about anything. This is because happiness has little to do with effort and everything to do with mindset.

The truth is, happiness requires little effort. Children around the world demonstrate this every day. There are plenty of people with a dream life who are not happy, and there are even more who are lacking basic essentials and appear radiantly happy.

Why is this?

If there is one thing I have learnt about life, it’s that we all have different perspectives of needs, wants and expectations. Plus you definitely can’t please everyone all the time. So, I encourage you to stop caring about what other people say, their response is their problem and not yours.

Many people spend years trying to make others happy and in doing so they forget to make themselves happy. Happiness comes from within. When you are positive about yourself and your surroundings you automatically feel happier.

You know the saying ‘the grass is always greener over the fence’ well ‘the grass is actually greener where you water it’ so it’s time to start watering your garden more often.

If you spend your 100% attention striving for the next person, place, possession or deal to make you happy, happiness rarely comes. If you are filling your life with ‘what’s not working for you’ it is subconsciously draining away the time and energy required to see the positive things that are in your reach.

We all have the same 24 hours per day, how are you using yours?

The only person that can help you stay happy is YOU. No one else is going to work for your happiness, they are busy looking after themselves. The truth is, you have to create it for yourself and if you have a positive growth mindset you will have a happier life. If you stop to smell the roses, celebrate the small wins and appreciate to moments which bring your joy, your happiness level rises.

I encourage you make a list of what brings you joy, happiness and contentment. Now make a conscious effort to start looking out example of these things, appreciating them and being grateful for them as often as you can.
