💸 This is what the Union Budget 2024 has in store for us! 🚀
It is the 1st of February 2024, the day of #UnionBudget2024. Our Hon'ble Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is on the Parliament floor, presenting the Interim Budget for the 6th time. Here are the few highlights and plans laid down by the Government of India, that resonated with me today -
1. Under PM Away Yojana Grameen, 2 crore houses will be taken up - Rooftop solarisation will allow one crore houses to claim 300 units of free electricity every month. ⚡
2. To ensure housing for middle class, the government will launch a scheme for middle class - This is to help them to buy or build their own houses for those living in slums, chawls or rented houses. 🏠
3. Skill India Mission has trained and upskilled 1.4 crore youth in the country. 👩🎓
4. The Covid Pandemic has led to a crisis of food, fertiliser, fuel and finances, but India has successfully navigated its way. 😷
5. Average real income has increased by 50 per cent. 💰
6. Female enrolment in higher education has gone up by 28 per cent in 10 years. 📚
7. MSP for ‘Annadata’ (farmers) has increased periodically. 👨🌾
8.Electronic Agri Mandi has connected 1051 mandis, transacting ₹2-lakh crore. 🚜
9. Direct financial assistance was extended to 11.8 crore farmers. 🌿
10. Garib Mahila (Poor Women) , Annadata (Farmers) and Yuva (Youth) will be the focus groups for the current Government. 👨👦👦
11. Worries about food have been eliminated with free rations for 80 crore people. 🍲

12. Doubling exports to ₹1-lakh crore rupees will generate 5 lakh new jobs. 👩🎓
13. STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) courses has seen an enrolment of 43 per cent women, which is the highest in the world. 📜
14. Govt is focused on more comprehensive GDP, Governance, Development and Performance. 📈
15. FY25 CAPEX Outlay is at 1.11 Lakh Crores. 🏗️
16. 40,000 normal railway bogies will be converted to Vande Bharat standards. 🚅
17. 1-lakh crore corpus will be made available with 50 year interest free (long-term financing or refinancing) to encourage the private sector to scale up R&D. 💸
18. The Government is close to achieving a target of 3 Crores under rural housing scheme; 2 Crores more to be constructed in next 5 years. 🏡
19. Revised total expenditure for FY24 was pegged at ₹44.90-lakh crore - Revised fiscal deficit estimated for FY24 has been pegged at 5.8% of GDP and the deficit for FY25 is pegged at 5.1%. 💐
20. FDI inflows stand at $596 billion, twice more than 2014-15, FDI stands for First Develop India. 📈
21. There will be no changes to income tax slabs, in keeping with tradition. 🧾
22. India as a G20 host, has showed the way forward and built consensus for solutions, for the problems currently being faced by the world. ✈️
